If you follow the links at the bottom of this page you can see the front cover of the next issue of the biggest Polish trade union magazine, the “New Popular Weekly”. While all of the media in Poland after two days of intense commercial lamenting have forgotten the tragedy that happened just days ago in Kashmir, this one has not. The editorial board decided to take part in the PTUDC campaign together with Marxists grouped around the socjalizm.org website.

The next issue – the cover of which you can see – will be out today (Thursday, October 20). As a trade union magazine it is distributed to all local branches of OPZZ (All-Poland Trade Union Alliance – www.opzz.org.pl). OPZZ is the biggest trade union federation in Poland that organises around two million workers in all branches.

The “New Popular Weekly” has published the appeal for urgent financial support and solidarity. This is the beginning of the campaign in Poland. Meetings with university and high-school students are planned where the magazine will be distributed and money will be collected. Expect reports from these actions.

The magazine has published the appeal and will take active part in the campaign by publishing further material.
