St. Paul's Cathedral in London has been rocked by controversy in the past weeks as protesters have camped outside. After two resignations of leading members, the church has now decided not to attempt to evict the protesters. As the Evening Standard puts it, "The decision by St Paul's to back the protesters will not go down well with the Cathedral's board, many of whom are senior figures in the City [heads of big banks]. Chairman Sir John Stuttard is a former partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers and other trustees have worked at Schroders, Lloyd's and the Confederation of British Industry. But protesters were thrilled."
