Iran: A report from Tikoshin Plastics in Sanandaj

During February 2009 the bosses of Tikoshin Plastics in Sanandaj, on the basis of a made up excuse, sacked all the company’s eight workers and shut down the workshop. The workers were confronted with the apathy and callousness of the Labour Office and their case has still not been presented to the Insurance Office.

During February 2009 the bosses of Tikoshin Plastics in Sanandaj, on the basis of a made up excuse, sacked all the company’s eight workers and shut down the workshop. They then sent all the raw materials to be sold in Tabriz.

Tikoshin Plastics is in the Sanandaj industrial estate, in Iranian Kurdistan. Last year a worker who had worked there for 18 years, and had lost a limb at work, was sacked from the factory. The workers of this company, who all have over 10 years’ experience, took their case to the Iranian regime’s Labour Office.

Due to the prior collusion of the Labour Office and the boss, however, the workers were confronted with the apathy and callousness of the Labour Office and their case has still not been presented to the Insurance Office.
