In association with Revolution Week
The USSR was a domineering force in the 20th century and had a profound influence on world history and left-wing movements. Many reject the ideas of Socialism on the grounds of the crimes committed there. However, is this reasonable?
Did the USSR resemble the ideas of Marx, Engels, Lenin or Trotsky? And if not why?
Why did Trotsky go as far as to claim that the Revolution had Been Betrayed and what did this mean for the history of Socialism?
We answer all these questions and more in our event "Was the USSR Socialist?"
All are welcome.
