October Revolution rally - with Trotsky's grandson

Socialist Appeal and the International Marxist Tendency are proud to host this special rally in celebration of the centenary of the Russian Revolution, with:

- Guest speaker Esteban Volkov, Leon Trotsky's grandson, speaking via video link about the significance of the Russian Revolution, 100 years on.

- The premiere screening of the IMT's new documentary "Leon Trotsky: the Life of a Revolutionary".

- And Alan Woods, editor of In Defence of Marxism and author of "Bolshevism: the Road to Revolution".

100 years ago, the masses in Russia - led by Lenin, Trotsky, and the Bolsheviks - changed the course of history with the inspiring October Revolution of 1917. For the first time in history, the working class took power into its own hands and attempted to transform society in the interests of the vast majority.

Today, with the world in the midst of crises at all levels - economically, politically, and socially - there is an urgent need to learn the lessons of the Russian Revolution and fight for revolutionary change.

Venue: Student Central (formerly ULU) on Malet Street. Upper Hall
Registration from 6pm

This rally is the opening event for Socialist Appeal's October Revolution festival - a three-day festival of Marxist ideas, taking place at Student Central from 20-22 October.
