On March 17-19, the editorial board of Marxy.com (Arabic website of the International Marxist Tendency), alongside supporters of the IMT in the Middle East and North Africa region, organised an online Marxist Spring University. It was extremely successful, both in regards to its high theoretical level, as well as the number of sign ups, with 254 people registering!

A major corruption scandal, involving the head of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and members of the European Parliament, came to light at the end of 2022. All allegedly received bribes from the Qatari and Moroccan regimes, in exchange for cleaning up the country’s image in advance of the 2022 World Cup. An investigation by the Brussels daily Le Soir uncovered the scandal, leading to the arrest and later sacking of ITUC General Secretary Luca Visentini. He previously stepped aside in December, having spent only a few days in the role.
The situation has gone from bad to worse for the world’s financial markets. After three bank collapses in the US and one in Switzerland, the markets are looking for the next weak link.

A manifestação em massa de ontem na França levou a luta contra Macron a novos patamares. Nos últimos dois meses, o movimento (desencadeado por um novo ataque às pensões) vem se intensificando. Autoridades do governo esperavam que tudo voltasse ao normal no fim de semana, contando com o enfraquecimento do movimento após a manifestação de quinta-feira. Eles estavam errados. Ontem, 3,5 milhões de trabalhadores e jovens inundaram as ruas da maioria das cidades da França, enquanto as greves e protestos assumiam um clima decididamente mais militante.

La manifestazione di giovedì 23 marzo in Francia ha portato la lotta contro Macron a un livello superiore. Nei due mesi scorsi, il movimento (provocato da un nuovo attacco alle pensioni) è andato crescendo. Gli esponenti del governo speravano che tutto sarebbe rientrato nella normalità entro il fine settimana, contando sul fatto che il movimento sarebbe scemato dopo la manifestazione di giovedì. Si sbagliavano. Ieri, 3,5 milioni di lavoratori e di giovani hanno riempito le strade della maggior parte delle città francesi, mentre gli scioperi e le proteste prendevano un tono decisamente più combattivo.

O “bypass” da Assembleia Nacional é visto, com razão, por grandes camadas da população como um insulto e uma enorme provocação.

Fransız hükümetinin, 16 Mart'ta parlamento oylaması olmadan Macron'un emeklilik reformlarını geçirmeyi zorlamak için anayasanın 49.3. Maddesini kullanması, mücadelenin gelişmesinde bir dönüm noktası oldu.
