Noticias, published in Marxist.com on Monday, Alan Woods was also
interviewed in Temas, the weekly paper with the biggest readership in
Venezuela, which is widely followed by Bolivarian activists in particular. On
the front page of the 17-23 November edition the paper announced: "Woods
challenges [Heinz] Dietrich to a public debate". We reproduce below the English
translation of the interview, which filled two and a half pages of the paper.
On November 23, we published a report of the
march of revolutionary peasants in Caracas, which was addressed by Alan Woods,
editor of Marxist.com. We publish below the full text of his speech, which was
received with great enthusiasm and frequently interrupted by applause and
chanting.
With a resounding
victory over his rival, Rafael Correa was elected president of the Republic of
Ecuador in the elections on November 26, 2006. The Ecuadorian people have obtained an important victory
over the groups which hold economic and political power. However this is just a
first step. The masses must be ready against any attempts of the
counter-revolution.
