YFIS-Pakistan rally against imperialist aggression in Multan

In Multan, the biggest city of the Southern Punjab, Youth for International Socialism and the Pakistan Trade Union Defence Campaign recently organised an anti-war rally. It was the third rally they had organised in Multan in which hundreds of trade unionists, students’ unions, the Bar association, and PPP workers participated with banners and placards against the war.

The masses are on the streets

As the imperialist barbarism has started its death game in Iraq it has shaken the whole world, especially the youth and working class and the general mood has been transformed.

The contradictions and interests of the almighty monopolies have been exposed with all their brutality. Resentment has developed on a global scale against this monstrous behaviour and the crushing role of capitalism. World opinion is being shaped and guided towards a unanimous and general conclusion, that the capitalist system no longer has a progressive and productive role. It has become absolutely parasitic. The masses worldwide are in a process of being politicised. The need for the subjective factor, the revolutionary party with a scientific programme of transforming world society has become an urgent one. The masses are experiencing and seeing what is going on. They are thinking about events, they are participating in protest movements; they are fighting against puppet regimes and their policies of war and destruction, which are dictated by the interests of the monopolies.

The rally marched from from Chungi no.9 to Ghanta Ghar.

Ilyas Khan, Malik Tariq Saeed, Rajayasir, Aamir Lateef, Saeed Maan, Ajmal, Babur, Salman, Anam, Sajad Malik, Naeem Ansari, M Hussain and Ramzan spoke on this occasion and explained that the imperialist aggression can be defeated only through the class war on a world level, and all the propaganda about so-called democracy and peace is impossible under the capitalist system.

The world working class and youth have to play their role to overthrow this system and transform the globe under a scientific socialist planned economy. This is the only scientific alternative to the present world crisis. The mood of the rally was revolutionary. We hope these rallies will play a key role in getting a mass audience for the revolutionary programme and ideas of Marxism.
