YFIS Pakistan National Convention Held!

YFIS National convention was held on Sunday November 10, 2002 at Lahore. Fifty seven delegates from Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Quetta, Jand, Taxila, Wah, Rawapindi, Kashmir, Bahawalpur, Qasur and many other parts of the country had come to attend this convention. The morale was high. The mood of the comrades was enthusiastic. This convention will definitely help in melting the ice and will prove a turning point in building the mass forces of YFIS in Pakistan and henceforth, in the Indian Sub-continent. YFIS National convention was held on Sunday 10th November 2002 at Lahore. Fifty seven delegates from Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Quetta, Jand, Taxila, Wah, Rawapindi, Kashmir, Bahawalpur, Qasur and many other parts of the country had come to attend this convention. It was attended by more than 50 people and the average age of the participant was 21 years.

The first session was political and the topic was "The role of youth in Revolution". It was chaired by Comrade Hina Zain. Comrade Lal Khan lead off elaborating on the historical character of youth in the revolution. He gave references of the revolutionary role played by the youth in the past and highlighted the potential role which can be played in the coming revolution in Pakistan.

Thereafter, Comrade Ijaz, Khalid Rashid, Kashif Nawaz, Aftab, Amir, Yasir Irshad and Khalid Bhatti contributed in the discussion. Finally Comrade Lal Khan summed up the first session.

The second session was chaired by Comrade Kaleem. It was an organizational session, in which Comrade Yasir gave a leadoff on building the YFIS and thereafter regional/area reports were put forwarded by the respective regional organizers. After reports a detailed strategy was worked out in order to expand the revolutionary work in the time ahead. Comrade Zahid Baloch, Kashif Nawaz, Khalid, Rashid, Ijaz, Rehman, Eiser Das, Nadeem Pasha, Sajjad, Asif, Shahzad and Adil gave their contributions in the discussion. This session was summed up by Comrade Manzoor who had specially come from Islamabad to attend the convention.

The morale was high. The mood of the comrades was enthusiastic. This convention will definitely help in melting the ice and will prove a turning point in building the mass forces of YFIS in Pakistan and henceforth, in the Indian Sub-continent.
