We strongly condemn the sentence of the Islamic Republic’s court!
We will continue international protests until all charges are dropped!
Mahmoud Salehi | Jalal Hosseini |
Five years in prison and three years internal exile | Three years in prison |
On Wednesday 9 November 2005 the court of the ‘Islamic Revolution’ and its prosecutors pronounced the sentences of four labour activists arrested in Saghez on May Day 2004.
According to the court sentence Mahmoud Salehi has been condemned to five years in prison and three years internal exile and Jalal Hosseini to three years in prison. However, Hadi Tanoomand and Esmail Khodkam have been acquitted.
The sentences of Borhan Divargar, Mohsen Hakimi and Mohammad Abdipoor have not been passed yet.
The Workers’ Action Committee and Iranian Workers’ Solidarity Network, together with their international collaborators, will continue their campaign until the charges against Mahmoud Salehi and Jalal Hosseini (and the others) have all been dropped.
We call on all Iranian and other groups and individuals to support us in this task.
