Over the weekend an
agreement was reached between the union at the Mitsubishi plant in
Barcelona (Anzoategui State) and the bosses. This has brought to an
end the two-month long occupation. Although important concessions
were won, the workers see it as a step back as they prepare for
greater battles in the future.

New and very disturbing facts have emerged since the killing
of workers picketing the Mitsubishi plant in Venezuela. Far from an "accident"
or private guards as initially claimed, it would seem the killing was
premeditated, carried out by the police, and had specific targets among the
leadership of the factory union.

These two videos show how the workers only had stones and the police
was firing live ammunition, contrary to reports in the Venezuelan
bourgeois media. The first video shows the moment in which Javier
Marcano (Tiko Tiko) was killed. |
