Resolutions Passed at South Punjab Labour Conference |

We publish the
resolutions voted at the South Punjab Labour Conference we reported on
yesterday.
- This Conference
condemns IRO 2002, 2A and 27 B and demands that these laws should be
withdrawn immediately.
- This Conference
rejects privatisation of all departments and considers it an anti worker
policy. This Conference demands that all privatised institutions should be
nationalized under democratic control of the workers.
- This conference
condemns downsizing in Pakistan Telecommunication Ltd. PTCL, PIA, Habib
Bank, CBR and all other departments and declares that we will support all
such workers in their struggle.
- This conference
condemns Contract Labour in all departments and demands that all workers
should be made permanent immediately.
- This conference
supports the demands of the Paramedical staff and these demands should be
met as soon as possible.
- This conference
supports the struggle of the All Pakistan Clerks Association, APCA, and
that all their demands should be met immediately.
- This conference
condemns bonded labour of Kiln workers and demands that it should be
abolished.
- This conference
condemns privatisation of technical education institutes and supports the
demands of PAI.
- This conference
condemns the efforts to privatise Bhaudin Zikrya University Multan.
- This conference
extends solidarity with the workers of the Power Looms whose conditions
have become miserable due to the crisis in electricity supply and
unemployment.
- This conference
demands that medical facilities to the workers should be restored.
- This conference
declares to continue its efforts for the unity of the working class.
