We, a group of revolutionary socialist activists in the students' movement, intend to publish a journal for all revolutionary socialist youth (of various tendencies). This journal will not belong to a specific tendency, organisation or party. The journal's main task will be to defend radical socialist views against the reformist and centrist tendencies in the students' movement. We intend to form a socialist 'pole', effectively a front, around this journal. It will be founded for the purpose of working towards overcoming the existing dispersion and division among socialists.

Discussions about the methods of work in the students' struggles, and also discussions on differing points of view that are linked with issues facing militant workers, women and youth will be published in the journal. It will include exchanges of views, theoretical discussions and translations of theoretical works. Those who agree with the general aims of the journal may co-operate and get involved in any field that they choose, in accordance with their abilities. This journal will reflect the views of all the various views within the socialist spectrum. There will be a column open to our opponents to reflect their views.

At the same time preparations for a general united action of students, and also international solidarity like the 'Iranian workers are not alone' campaign, can begin within this socialist pole. These will have the perspective of a general united action of youth and students and strengthening what some activists of the labour movement in the Co-operation Council of Labour Organisations and Activists have already achieved.

This journal, to be named Militant, will be published as well as posted on its special weblog.

We ask those who would like to co-operate and readers that, whenever possible, they duplicate and distribute the journal and send their student reports and articles to be published in it.

Comrades who consider themselves within the revolutionary socialists' spectrum, and would like to create a socialist pole against the existing deviant tendencies (reformists and centrists) on the theoretical and practical front, should contact the email given below in order to form this pole and to put this plan into effect. Arrangements will then be made for their co-operation with the journal.

Thank you.
