The 18th “Permanent Revolution Convention” of the Jammu Kashmir National Students Federation is being held on 28th October in Rawalpindi. A rally will be held on Murree Road in Rawalpindi at 2 p.m. against unemployment, price hikes and privatizations. Later an education session for young students will be held at 4 p.m. After that new cabinet of the JKNSF will be elected.
Leaders of progressive student organizations from various parts of Pakistan have been invited for this occasion. Organizations like the Baloch Students Organizations BSO, Pushtoon Students Federation, Peoples Students Federation, Inqlabi Council Faisalabad and many others have sent greetings for this convention and are sending delegates to attend this remarkable event.
Posters and leaflets for this convention have been published in big numbers and are being circulated around many cities of Kashmir and Pakistan. The poster says “Irreconcilable Struggle till Socialist victory”.
New units are being announced in various colleges and university campuses in Pakistani-held Kashmir and preparations for a big event are in full swing. Torch bearing and motor cycle rallies, press conferences and corner meetings s are being held regularly to spread the message of revolutionary socialism. Slogans of socialist revolution are being painted on every wall and every stone of this mountainous terrain. Red flags have been hoisted at every main crossing in various cities. The announcement of this convention has imbued a new spirit among the students to work for a revolution in a period in which whole world is in the grip of capitalist decline and revolutionary movements.
Greetings from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Indian Occupied Kashmir are also being sent to this convention. The General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Kashmir will also address the convention by telephone. Although many student delegates wanted to visit from across the LoC, due visa problems on both sides they will not be able to attend. However, they have sent their greetings for a successful convention. The JKNSF stands for the independence of Kashmir through a socialist revolution, linking it up with the socialist revolution of India and Pakistan, that will lead to a socialist federation of South Asia and ultimately of the whole World.
