According to reports received from Shush city around 5000 workers are now on strike at the Haft Tapeh Sugar Cane Development Commercial Company. The strike has entered its sixth day and all three shifts, as well as all parts of the factory and cane fields of the company, are solidly behind the strike.

When the Special Forces clamped down on the Kian Tyre workers they also ordered firefighters to aim boiling water at the workers. Six firefighters refused to do so. Because of this they have been held at the Ahmadabad Mastoofi detention centre for over 48 hours.

A Special Forces unit using bulldozers broke through the walls of Kian Tyre (formerly Alborz Lastic) and abducted 1000 workers, who had been protesting about unpaid wages. No one has any knowledge of their whereabouts.

On the afternoon of Monday 3 December the Iranian regime’s Information Ministry contacted a number of left-wing students and told them that they should report to the Ministry the next day. If they did not present themselves at the Ministry at 10am, or went anywhere near Tehran University, they would be arrested.

Mansour Ossanlou, the leader of the Steering Committee of the Trade Union of the Vahed Bus Company of Tehran and Suburbs, appeared in court on Saturday, 24 February. His 'trial' at the 14th branch of the Revolutionary Court was held behind closed doors and he has been told that he or his lawyers cannot divulge details of the charges brought against him.
