International Pfingstseminar 2012 – Down with the dictatorship of the markets!

Dear comrades,  we would like to invite you to our traditional Pfingstseminar, which will be held on 25th – 28th of May 2012 in Döbriach, Corinthia, Austria. This years Pfingstseminar will be held in solidarity with the Greek working class and youth. [in German]

Workshops:

  • Plenary discussion on the Crisis of capitalism and the Marxist perspective

1) Perspectives of the international Revolution - Workshops on the questions of Marxist theory based on current developments:

  • Dynamic of revolutionary processes in the 21st century, the role of the youth and the organised working class movement
  • The Permanent Revolution using the example of Latin America, Africa and Asia
  • China – a new imperialist power?
  • Role of Germany in Europe – perspectives of the class struggle in Europe

2) The crisis and the tasks of revolutionary socialists

  • Diagnosis capitalism – how the System makes us ill
  • Strategies on how to shift the burden of the crisis on the working class and the crisis of the trade unions
  • Perspectives for Greece
  • Keynesianism – a Marxist criticism

3) Philosophy of practice

  • Debate about a socialist programme (Reformism or Revolution, which programme against the crisis)
  • The role and the history of revolutionary organisations on the example of the League of Communists, the Bolsheviks and the Left Opposition (role of the paper, role of self financing, democratic centralism)
  • Revolutionary work in companies and trade unions concrete
  • Socialist youth work concrete

In addition to the workshops the venue provides a bathing lake, football ground, beach volleyball ground, table tennis and the possibility to rent a canoe. There is also professional care for children. Accommodation will be in tents or big sleeping rooms with mattresses; actual bed rooms are very limited.

We are expecting around 100 participants from seven out of nine regions of Austria, from Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Serbia, the group of Red Radicals from Slovenia and possibly a delegation from Bosnia.

The costs are 30€ for school students, 40€ for university students and 65€ for workers (including food).

The nearest airport is Klagenfurt, alternatively you can also go to Bratislava (Vienna) or Linz (all three airports have Ryanair flights), from where we will have a joint travel.
