FRETECO called a demonstration this past April 24 which was supposed to leave the Parque Carabobo to the Miraflores Palace. The main demand of the demonstration with the defence of the workers' control, revolutionary co-management and the nationalisation of companies such as Sanitarios Maracay which have not yet been expropriated by the government. At the end of the march a letter with the demands of the companies was going to be handed in.

However, the plans for the demonstration were disrupted by the news of the repression against the comrades at Sanitarios Maracay by the Governor of Aragua.

After receiving the news of the repression against the workers of Sanitarios Maracay, the workers grouped around FRETECO met in front of the newspaper Ultimas Noticias to protest against the repression of the workers and later marched to Miraflores to hand in signatures of protest against the arrest and detention of 20 workers.

At the end of the march  two FRETECO members were interviewed: Jorge Paredas from Inveval and Richard Lopez of INAF.

On this page you can find some press cuttings about the recent events at Sanitarios Maracay.
