SOAS Marxists: The fight for women's liberation

Venue: Room G51

Join the SOAS Marxist Society as we discuss the Fight for Women's Liberation.

The oppression of women is inextricably linked to the class struggle, as marxists we strive to understand the origins of women's oppression, how it came into being, and how to end it. By studying history, Marx and Engels discovered how the oppression of women came hand-in-hand with the implementation of class society, therefore abolishing such a system is the only way to truly emancipate women.

Plus we're excited to have Henry Chango Lopez - the President of the Independent Workers Union of Great Britain (IWGB) - come to address the society about the union's campaign to bring outsourced workers at the University of London back in-house, and how you as students can support the workers' struggle.
