Montreal: The Socialist Origins of International Women's Day

March 8th is International Women's Day. This a historic worldwide day of protest which unites people to fight against the oppression of women. However, not many people are aware of its socialist origins.

Under the capitalist system, women are doubly oppressed, at work and at home. As long as capitalism persists, the ruling class will divide us along sex, gender or ethnic lines so that the workers cannot unite against the ruling class. It is therefore important to under where the oppression of women comes from in order to fight to eradicate it once and for all!

Join Socialist Fightback to discuss the emancipation of women, socialism and the socialist origins of International Women's Day!
