Demonstration in Copenhagen in solidarity with people of Iran

Yesterday there was a 2,000-strong demonstration on a main square in Copenhagen in solidarity with the people of Iran, fighting against the regime of the mullahs.

The participants were mostly Iranians who live in Denmark, but many Danes also took part in the demo. Many demonstrators were young Iranians, who were born in Denmark, or who fled to Denmark while they were still small children.

He said that a revolution against the mullah's regime is necessary. He stated that the struggle of the masses in Iran is also the struggle of SF. Also, unfortunately, some bourgeois politicians spoke at the demo. Namely, a former right-wing minister, Karen Jespersen, who is responsible for the scandalous deportations of Iranians facing the death penalty in Iran.

We had with us a banner of the Iranian Workers’ Solidarity Network with the slogan "The Iranian Workers Are Not Alone". It was also shown on national TV.

The comrades also sold 30 copies of Socialistisk Standpunkt, but if more had been brought, we could easily have sold twice as many. This illustrates the mood among the demonstrators.

A new demonstration will take place Saturday in front of the Iranian Embassy in Copenhagen.
