URGENT: member of Kurdish Komala in Iran facing imminent execution

After waiting for more than two years Esmail Mohamadi has finally been informed that he faces execution within the next few days. Please take part in the protest campaign to save his life.

Esmail Mohamadi has received a letter from the Iranian authorities announcing his execution within a few days! Esmail Mohamadi is a political prisoner being held in the Iranian jail of Oromiyeh. Mohamadi has been in prison for more than two years and has undergone torture and abuse.

Mr. Mohamadi, born 4 June 1965, is the father of five children and has been a ‘peshmerga’ guerrilla of the Kurdish Komala organisation for a number of years. He was arrested by the forces of the Islamic Republic on 1 Sept 2002 in Bookan, in Iranian Kurdistan, and then sentenced to death in one of the regime’s courts. His case number is 1564.

We strongly urge you to act quickly to save Mr. Mohamadi’s life and secure his physical safety, and also to express to the Iranian authorities your outrage at his treatment. Raise this question with your MPs, local party branches, trade union branches and send off personal letters as well.
