En su ofensiva contra el pueblo venezolano, los trabajadores y al presidente Chávez de nuevo los capitalistas intentan golpear a la revolución. El pasado 14 de noviembre el patrón de Sanitarios Maracay anuncio el cierre de la empresa. Esta situación forma parte del continuo intento del patrón de quebrar la organización de los trabajadores y pisotear sus derechos durante los últimos años.

Alan Woods recently spoke at a meeting at Inveval, one of the nationalised factories in Venezuela under workers' control. Alan spoke to the workers about the present world situation, the Venezuelan revolution, and the urgent need to take the revolution to the end.

Más de un año y medio después de su primera visita, Alan Woods volvía esta Lunes 13 de Noviembre a la empresa expropiada y controlada por los trabajadores Inveval. Muchas cosas han cambiado desde aquel 19 de abril de 2005. Entonces Inveval se llamaba aún Constructora Nacional de Válvulas (CNV) y era una empresa tomada por los trabajadores, quienes llevaban más de dos años luchando contra el sabotaje contrarrevolucionario del empresario, el golpista Andrés Sosa Pietri, y demandando al gobierno la expa expropiación de la empresa.
   

Introduction to Venezuelan edition of “Venezuelan Revolution - a Marxist Perspective”

The central thesis of this book from beginning to end is the following: that the Bolivarian Revolution can only succeed if it goes beyond the boundaries of capitalist private property, expropriating the oligarchy and transforming itself into a socialist revolution. The Revolution has begun, but it is not finished. The old state apparatus is still largely intact and a number of key economic levers (including the banks and the land) remain in the hands of the Venezuelan oligarchy.

This past Sunday, November 12, Alan Woods presented his book “The Venezuelan Revolution – A Marxist perspective”, to a packed meeting at the Caracas Book Fair. Alan spoke on the current situation in Venezuela, discussing the struggle between reform and revolution, the elections, and what is to be done to guarantee the success of the revolution.

José-Antonio Hernández was recently interviewed at the 20th Congress of the Spanish Students’ Union, which was held over the weekend of November 10-12. The Congress passed a resolution in support of the Venezuelan revolution, and José was asked his opinions on the situation in Venezuela and the work of the Students’ Union.
